Former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan has launched the One Degree project, a collaboration between the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and Stand Up To Cancer, which aims to boost the US's investment in cancer research.

Brosnan, whose first wife Cassandra Harris and her daughter Charlotte both passed away from ovarian cancer, spoke in Washington DC alongside Marcia Cross, saying 'Our families have been decimated by this terrible disease. It's gone on too long. Enough is enough. If not now, when?', adding 'that kind of sorrow becomes an indelible part of your psyche'.
